Information we collect
The pages do not ask you to create an account. If you write to us, we receive whatever you choose to send (your message and any contact details in it). Server and host logs may include your IP address, browser type and the page you requested, which is normal for a website.
Google Analytics 4
We use Google Analytics 4, measurement ID G-L9E3YG9W6X, to see which guides get read. GA4 receives page views, approximate location, device and browser type, and on-site events such as affiliate clicks. Analytics storage is set to granted. Advertising storage, ad user data, and ad personalization are set to denied in the consent default that loads before the tag. Google's own terms describe how Google processes that data.
Cookies
Google Analytics 4 sets cookies (including cookies named like _ga) so a return visit can be counted without us knowing your name. We do not sell that data. Essential hosting may also set technical cookies. If you follow a link to a booking site, that site can set its own cookies. You can block or delete cookies in your browser. The guides still load if you do.
Affiliate links
Hotel buttons go to Agoda with this site's partner id. Other programmes (including Booking.com, Klook, GetYourGuide, Tiqets and transport or eSIM partners) are reached through Travelpayouts, marker 705381. Those companies may record that the click came from Cancun Pointer. If you book, we may earn a commission. It does not change the price you pay. Details are on the affiliate disclosure and the terms.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you can ask what personal data we hold, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. You can also object to analytics, including through your browser's cookie controls and Google's opt-out tools. We will not invent a request form that does not exist yet.
